Important Information for Applicants

This Apical Ancestor Reference Map summarises information about ancestors associated with the Yamatji Nation Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) . It is based on native title connection research undertaken during the ILUA process and informed through consultation.

The locations shown are approximate and provided as a general reference for the ILUA area. They do not define exact boundaries, exclusive family areas, or the extent of an individual’s connection to land and waters. Cultural affiliations and descendant connections may overlap or differ from what is shown.

Inclusion of an apical ancestor or geographic reference on this map does not, on its own, establish Traditional Connection or eligibility for Membership of Yamatji Southern Regional Corporation.

Membership eligibility is determined in accordance with Rule 8 of the YSRC Constitution, including application of the ILUA definition of a Yamatji Nation Person and consideration of relevant information such as Law and Custom and genealogical material.

This document is provided as a guidance tool only and does not constitute a native title determination or a definitive genealogical record.
